Assistant Track Coach Deb Lyndaker

 

One of the outstanding athletes in Saint women's cross country and track history, Deb Lyndaker returned to her alma mater as assistant coach of cross country and track and field in July of 1998 and took over as the head women's cross country coach in the fall of 2001. Deb is a three-time league Coach of the Year in Cross Country and has led the Saints to three straight championships. She coaches the distance events and pole vault for the men's and women's track teams.

An NCAA cross country All America in 1995 and an indoor track and field All America in 1997, Deb held 14 Saint track and field records at the time of her graduation. She was also an Academic All America in both cross country and track and was a 1997 cum laude graduate of
St. Lawrence.

The winner of the Saint Outstanding Senior Athlete award, she was both NCAA Regional and New York State women's cross country champion in 1996 and a seven-time New York State Champion in track. She was the New York State Collegiate Track and Field Conference most valuable runner in both indoor and outdoor track in 1997 and the UCAA Most Valuable Runner in 1996 and 1997. She earned both All State and All UCAA honors in track and cross country and was a two-time Saint MVP in cross country and a three-time MVP in track and field. She began her coaching career as an assistant at Ithaca College in cross country and track and earned her master's degree in exercise science in 1998.

She returned to the Saint program in July of 1998 and helped the Saint women's cross country team to its first NCAA team qualification in 2000 and also coached the women's track and field team to the league title and second place finishes in both indoor and outdoor NYSCTC championships.
