2006-07: Thornhill was named 2007 Liberty League Indoor Track Performer of the Year for his outstanding sophomore campaign. Thornhill was both the Liberty League and NYSCTC champion in the 200 meters. He also ran the first leg for
the Saint 4x200 meter relay team that claimed both the Liberty League and NYSCTC championships, setting a
new St. Lawrence record in the event and helping the Saints to the team title in both meets. At the 2007 Liberty League Outdoor Championships, Thornhill met four ECAC qualifying marks, including a win in the 100 meter dash. He also finished second in the 200 meter dash.
2005-06: A member of the soccer team in the fall, Jay is an outstanding sprinter. He finished third in the Liberty League Championships in the 200 meters and was fifth in the 55.
At the Loomis Chaffee School
Jay Thornhill played soccer on the Lac-St. Louis Lakers and was on the 2003 Quebec Provincial ODP Team, which won the Gold Medal in the Canadian National ODP Tournament. He was selected as the Junior Outstanding Athlete of the Year and Senior Athlete of the Year at Loomis Chaffee. He was captain of the track team and was the New England 100 meter prep school champion. He was the Founder's League 200 meter champion as a junior. At St. Lawrence, Thornhill plans to major in economics.
