Fall 2007: September 24 th, Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Gillard dominated the SLU Fall Classic “C Singles” draw winning the tournament defeating Hamilton’s Ciocca in the finals. Gillard also had an impressive doubles result in the Fall Classic “B Doubles” draw falling in the finals to teammates Benson and Abernethy 8-5. Gillard also participated as a member of number 3 doubles team with partner Christopher Tamm in dual match action in the fall.

At Keene High School
Gillard was an outstanding student athlete, succeeding both on the tennis court and in the classroom. He captained the varsity tennis team in both his junior and senior seasons, and was the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award in his freshman campaign. Gillard, who was also the team MVP each of his final three seasons at Keene, was a member of the National Honor Society and earned High Honors four consecutive years.
