St. Lawrence hosted the 2004 CSA National Individual Championships in the Robie Squash Center and the Leithead Field House.
One of the newest of St. Lawrence's 32 intercollegiate sports, the Saint men's squash program cracked the top 20 in the College Squash Association final rankings for the first time in 2005, finishing 19th in the nation. The CSA includes all collegiate squash teams regardless of NCAA divisional classification.
The Saints are members of the Liberty League in squash and that league sponsors a team tournament to determine its champion. St. Lawrence was also the host institution for the 2004 College Squash Association individual championships.
The Saint program is open to all levels of players with team positions determined by a ladder competition among candidates for varsity spots. The Saints compete against NCAA Division I, II and III teams which are members of the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association during regular season dual matches and tournaments and also play in some early-season open tournaments in nearby Ottawa and Montreal.
Practice for the team begins in late fall and competition begins in mid-November. The season concludes for the squash team with competition in the NISRA team championships in late February with the NISRA individual championships the following weekend.
St. Lawrence encourages the participation of multi-sport athletes in all of its athletic programs and several members of the men's squash teams are two-sport athletes.
