2008: Russell continued to be a leader both on the field and in the locker room in 2008 as the Madison, CT native served as a captain for the second straight year. The senior attackman earned First Team All-Conference honors with 51 points (25g,26a) and was selected to represent St. Lawrence in the 2008 Senior North-South Game.
2007: In his junior season, Russell exploded for a career-high 54 points which led the nation's 18th ranked offense. The Madison, CT native also led the team in assists (35) and was fourth in goals (19). Russell earned Liberty League First Team honors for his efforts, and will serve as one of the team's captains in the 2008 season.
2006: Russell continued his success from his freshman season into his sophomore campaign, as the Madison, CT native was named a First Team All-Conference selection. Russell started in all 18 games as a sophomore, scoring 18 goals and adding 24 assists for 42 points, ranking second on the squad. His 2006 season included three games of five points or more and a three-goal effort versus Endicott College in the NCAA Tournament.
2005: Russell was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Year after leading the Saints in points and assists. He finished third on the team in goals. He is the first rookie to lead the team in scoring in more than four seasons. Russell ranks third in the league in assists per game and fifth in points per game. Russell led all rookies in the league in points, assists and goals. He tallied four or more points in six of 15 games this season, including two five-goal games.

At Fairfield Prep
Russell was a two-sport athlete at Fairfield, playing soccer and lacrosse. As a junior, he earned second-team all-league honors in lacrosse. His senior season, he earned first-team all-league and second-team all-state honors. Russell was named the MVP of the South Team in the Connecticut Division Senior All-Star game.
