2007-08: As a sophomore, Hoercher played in each of the 26 games and earned his first start of his collegiate career against Connecticut College before becoming a consistent starter for the Scarlet and Brown. Hoercher nearly doubled his points from his rookie season in 2007-2008, scoring 267 points for St. Lawrence, averaging just over 10 points a game, making him the fourth highest scorer for the Saints. His efforts helped the team to a first place finish in the Liberty League regular season. The Auburn, NY native had a season-high 16 points against Skidmore College on February 9 and scored in the double digits in more than half of the games throughout the year. Hoercher's efforts on the court were rewarded when he was named a Liberty League Honorable Mention at the end of the season.
2006-07: In his first year campaign, Hoercher averaged just over 17 minutes a game and tallied 134 points and accumulated a .426 field goal average. The Auburn, NY guard was near perfect from the line, shooting 22-for-24 and leading the team with a .917 free throw average. He also had 61 assists, the second most of the team, as well as 49 rebounds, 16 steals, and one block.

At Auburn High School
As captain of his high school team, Hoercher received All-League honors and was named team Most Valuable Player. After graduating from Auburn High School, Hoercher spent a post-graduate year at Hotchkiss School.
