SAINTS EARN TOP SEED IN ECAC PLAYOFFS

February 25 — The St. Lawrence University men’s basketball team came just short of earning an automatic NCAA Tournament bid when they lost 70-63 to Union in the championship game of the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association tournament on Saturday.

The team did, however, make a favorable impression by winning nine games in a row before the championship game. The Saints, now 18-9 on the season, are the top seed and will host a first round game with St. John Fisher in the quarterfinals of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Upstate Tournament.

With a win on Wednesday, the Saints will earn the right to host the remainder of the tournament this weekend. The semifinals will be contested at 6:30 and 8:30 on Saturday night, and the championship will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
