A walk-on defenseman who was a standout for the Foxboro Stars of the EJHL last season, Matt Raley will contend for a spot on the Saint defense as a freshman. He was the leading scorer among defensemen for the Stars with six goals and 20 assists in 44 games and was plus-18 in the plus/minus ratings last season. He was a league all star/ He also was a member of two state championship teams in Illinois . He has a strong shot and good vision on the ice.

Personal: The son of Bob and Debbie Raley, Matt also played baseball and football and was a High A honor roll member throughout high school. He received the Viking Pride Award for excellence in Chemistry and was a leader in a Motorola Advanced Physics research project.
