2006-07: Derek Keller was a signficant contributor to the Saint defensive success as a rookie and showed that he could step up into the offense as well, finishing the year with eight assists in 33 games. He played in 23 straight to finish his rookie season and earned his first career post-season point with an assist in the ECAC Hockey third place game win over Dartmouth.
Pre-SLU: Derek Keller played for the North Battleford Stars and was a member of two ITECH Champion teams. He was the Outstanding Defenseman Award winner for two years and was a first team all star. He had 16 goals and 30 assists in 53 games from the blue line. The son of Bruno and Gina Keller, Derek also starred in baseball and was a member of two league and provincial championship teams. He was also an honor roll student at John Paul II Colleigate. |
