2006-07: Shawn Fensel had an outstanding sophomore season for the Saints and will be a leader of the Saint defensive unit as a junior. Shawn played in 37 of 39 games and had three goals and seven assists for 10 points. He took just seven penalties in 37 games and was a force in the defensive end. He ended the year plus-two in the plus-minus rankings.
2005-06: Shawn Fensel played in all 40 games for the Saints as a rookie and had four goals and 10 assists for 14 points. Three of his four goals came on the power play. Very solid defensively, he took just six penalties in the entire season. He scored his first collegiate goal in a home win over Providence on Oct. 15 and it was also his first career point.
Pre-SLU: Shawn scored seven goals and had 34 assists for 41 points for the 2003 and 2004 CJHL Champion Raiders. He was a two-time CJHL all star and was the league defenseman of the year last season.
Personal: The son of Maureen and Harry Fensel, Shawn enjoys golf, soccer and fishing in his free time.
