2006-07: Drew Bagnall had a huge senior season and it was reflected in the list of post-season honors he earned: first team All America, ECAC Hockey League Player of the Year and Best Defensive Defenseman Award winner; unanimous first team all league; INCH Defenseman of the Year and first team All America; and Hobey Baker finalist. Bagnall was the lone senior on a defense which included four sophomores and a freshman as its primary players and helped the Saints to one of their lowest team goals against averages since the 2000 season. He scored six goals and had 19 assists in 39 games for 25 points and was plus-ten for the season in the plus-minus ratings. He earned ECACHL All Academic honors for the third straight season.
2005-06: Drew missed 16 games with a hand injury after being cut by a skate late in the UMass-Amherst game in his junior season. He returned to action in January and finished the year with a goal and nine assists in 24 games.
2004-05: One of the top returning defensemen in the ECAC Hockey League, Drew Bagnall will be an all star candidate as a junior as he has put together back-to-back solid seasons from both the defensive and offensive side of the game.
Bagnall is coming off a sophomore season in which he had seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points in 37 games. He has 12 goals and 25 assists for 37 points in 77 collegiate outings.
Drew, drafted 195th overall by Dallas, had his rights traded to Florida during his freshman year.. He was named the Saint Rookie of the Year and was the winner of the Ronald C. Hoffmann First Year Scholar-Athlete Award.
Prior to entering SLU he was selected as the top defenseman in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and named top defenseman in the SJHL/MJHL All Star game. Drafted 195th overall by Dallas, he was also team MVP after scoring 17 goals and 47 assists for 64 points in 59 games.
Personal: The son of Andrew and Gail Bagnall of Oakbank, Drew attended Springfield Collegiate and played basketball and soccer in addition to hockey. He enjoys wakeboarding, weight lifting and golf.
