Consistently
one of the top golfers for the Saints throughout his career, John Pezdek led the
team with a 75.5 stroke average last season and did not have a score above 79
in competition. His best round in collegiate competition has been a 71, carded
in the Williams Invitational last fall in which he was third as an individual.
He had five top ten finishes a year ago including a fifth in the ECAC Championship
tournament. A Northeast Regional All America, he is a two-time golf MVP for the
Saints. An economics major, John is listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and
Universities and is a member of Thelmo, the SLU student government, the Student
Judiciary Board and the Student Athlete Advisory Council.
John
finished third in the SLU Invitational to start his senior year, shooting 73-75=148
for a four-over par total score. He earned UCAA Player of the Week honors. He
shot 73, tied for fourth in the UCAA championships and earned first team All UCAA
honors. He finished the fall portion of the schedule with a team-leading 76.2
stroke average.
At Ilion High School
A
National Honor Society member, John played soccer, basketball, volleyball and
golf at Ilion High School. He was All League in both soccer and golf and captained
the soccer, volleyball and golf teams.
