THE GOLF TRAINING CENTER
AT ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY

The Golf Training Center at St. Lawrence University opened in November of 2000 and has something to offer golfers of all ages and abilities on a year-round basis.

Want to work on your game in the dead of winter? How about getting a round in during a snow storm and getting neither cold nor wet? Need a study break and want to take up a new sport? The Golf Training Center is the answer to all of that and more.

Open seven days per week with the exception of major holidays from November through April, the Golf Training Center offers a place for all levels of golfers to work on their swing, keep the putting stroke sharp or to take lessons from St. Lawrence University golf coach and LPGA Professional Mary Lawrence.

Or, you can take on the challenge of playing virtual golf on such courses as Bay Hill, Pinehurst, the best of the Monterey Peninsula including Pebble Beach or venture to Hawaii and play Mauna Kea without ever leaving Canton.

The Golf Training Center Features:

The top of the line in golf simulators featuring the courses mentioned above.
Four driving cages with swing analyzers.
A video teaching area.
Putting green and chipping area.
Training aids and conditioning area.
Club rentals and club repair.

Golf a Year Round Sport at St. Lawrence

The Golf Training Center at St. Lawrence provides members of the St. Lawrence University men's and women's golf teams the opportunity to stay sharp and improve their games from the time the fall season ends in October until the southern trip and the spring season begins in March and April. Freshman Pete Wilson (left) works on his swing and his putting stroke and can get complete swing analysis from the computer. When classes resume following the semester break in late January, the team will have workouts daily from 3:30-5:30 Monday through Friday with the building reserved exclusively for team use.

A Plus for Students

All St. Lawrence students will have the opportunity to use the facilities at the Golf Training Center regardless of their skill level. Lessons will be offered for beginning and advanced golfers beginning in February and leagues will be formed for intramural play. The only part of the facility which involves a fee for student use is the simulator.

Break Up the Winter

The facility is open to the public with the exception of team hours and when reserved by outings and private parties. Memberships are available as well as green fees for occasional use. Coach Lawrence also offers lessons on a daily basis. For fees or more information, call 315-229-7888.
