SAINTS EARN NO. 12 RANKING

IN NATIONAL POLL

Oct. 3: The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team jumped up three spots to No. 12 in Tuesday's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll after capturing their 13th straight Liberty League title on Saturday.

The Saints, led by senior tri-captain Erik Donohoe and newcomer Eli Howard, have worked the Scarlet and Brown up the regional scale and now into the national spotlight. The 12th overall ranking is the highest under current head coach John Newman, as 2002 men's team reached No. 14.

"It is exciting for our team to see that our hard work is paying off, both with a Liberty League championship and now the No. 12 ranking in the national polls," said Coach Newman. "However, we have a long way to go to reach our goals, so we can not get complacent."

The Saints will be in action again on Saturday, October 6th when they host the 2007 Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational in Canton, NY. The men's race begins at 12:00pm following the women's cross country event at 11:00am.
