DONOHOE AND HOWARD CONTINUE THEIR MOMENTUM WITH TOP-TEN FINISHES Sept. 22: Senior Erik Donohoe and rookie sophomore Eli Howard continued their fantastic starts to the 2007 cross country season on Saturday, as each runner notched their third consecutive top-10 finish this season. Donohoe’s 2nd place showing at the Connecticut College Invitational kept his streak of three top-2 finishes alive, while Howard earned 7th place overall in the 216 person race.
Donohoe finished a mere three seconds behind the winner of the race, NYU’s Jesse Schneider, with a time of 25:03. Howard’s time of 25:30 on the 8k course landed him in 7th place.
Also scoring for the Scarlet and Brown on Saturday were senior John Ostler, who ran a time of 26:11 for 20th position, senior Tyler Ludington (27th, 26:19) and first year student Dan Ramsey (35th, 26:28). The five runners totaled 90 points, earning 3rd place overall behind only NYU (33) and Stonehill (88) and one spot ahead of the University of Connecticut (101).
Other competitors for St. Lawrence on Saturday included sophomore Jacob Malcomb (50th, 26:51), junior Mark Burnham (57th, 26:58), senior Ben Greenberg (60th, 27:08), sophomore Geoff Millard (62nd, 27:09), rookie Brandon Kenny (80th, 27:30), junior Will Manning (85th, 27:36) and first year students Ian Schofield (92nd, 27:51) and Chris Funch (100th, 28:02).
The Saints will be in action again a week from today in the 2007 Liberty League Championships hosted by Clarkson University. The Saints’ quest for a 13th consecutive conference title begins at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 29th.
