Steve Fountain is in his seventh season with the St. Lawrence coaching staff. Fountain served as the Saints offensive line coach from 2001-2006 and was named offensive coordinator in the spring of 2007. In addition to his duties with the offensive line, Fountain is responsible for the Saints game day play calling.

Fountain came to St. Lawrence after a one-year stint at Columbia University as the tight ends and H-backs coach. Prior to Columbia, he worked for three years at Trinity College. While there, he worked with the wide receivers and running backs for the varsity team while also acting as the head coach for the junior varsity squad. In 1996, he was the outside linebackers and defensive ends coach at Sacred Heart University.

During the 1994-95 seasons, he coached the wide receivers and tight ends at Hartwick College. Fountain took his first coaching job at Laconia High School in Laconia, N.H., working with the wide receivers and defensive backs.

Fountain earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education in 1993 from Plymouth State College, where he also played wide receiver and defensive back. He completed his Master’s in Educational Administration from St. Lawrence in 2003 and his Master's in Counseling in May 2006.
