2006: In his junior season, Bates added depth at the defensive tackle position for the Saints.

2005: Bates was a backup at defensive tackle in his rookie season. He earned Liberty League All-Academic honors for his work in the classroom.

2004: Bates was a backup at defensive tackle in his rookie season.

Bates is a Government major.

Bates competed in football and baseball, earning honorable mention all-league and the coaches award. He also won two New England Prep Championships.
