Appleton Arena is home for the St. Lawrence University
men's and women's Division I hockey programs and
also serves as a base of operations for other Saint
teams in terms of locker rooms and training facilities
during the fall and spring seasons.
Extensively renovated over the last several years,
Appleton Arena has new locker rooms for both the
men's and women's hockey programs, a weight training
facility for hockey and offices on its west side.
The east side of the building includes locker rooms
for visiting teams and for the Saint field hockey
and soccer teams during the fall season and the
softball and men's and women's lacrosse teams during
the spring. Field hockey and lacrosse use North
Country Field, which is adjacent to the east side
of Appleton as their home field while the soccer
field and softball field are just across the street.
A press box for North Country Field is on the east
side of Appleton.
The lobby and upper levels of the arena, which
celebrated its 50th year in January of 2001, have
been completely redone for the comfort of the fans,
and new concession areas have been built on the
upper level. The ice sheet in Appleton is a standard
85x200 and the arena seats 2600 with standing room
around the top of the seats which can swell attendance
at Saint hockey games above 3,000 fans.
