2007 Summer Sports Camp Information

St. Lawrence University and the Athletic Department has offered a wide variety of summer sports camps on a national scale for decades. These camps provide a fun safe environment for its participants to improve their athletic abilities. All of the St. Lawrence camps are directed by the Athletic Departments Head Coaches from their respective sports and hire some of the best coaches and instructors from around the country. We hope to see your children on our campus this summer.
Room and board-All campers for residential camps will be housed in the universities dormitories. Most rooming situations provide for 2 campers, however, a few triples and a very limited number of singles would be available. These special rooming configurations are at a first come first serve basis. If a camper has a roommate preference please note this on the application or by contacting that camps director. Meals will be provided in the universities Dana Dining. Campers should bring towels, swimsuit, toiletries as well as all appropriate athletic attire as well as casual cloths.
Facilities-All camps at St. Lawrence University have the opportunity to utilize some of the best athletic/recreation facilities in the country. The University has been continually upgrading their athletic/recreation facilities over the past eight years. Some of the more recent additions include Newell Field House which houses a 200 meter indoor track as well as five tennis courts and four recreation basketball courts. This facility also includes a 10,000 square foot fitness center. The North Country Turf Field and Sandy MacAllester Field (Soccer Stadium) were also recently completed. Health Center- The Winning Health Center will be open for medical needs from 10:00-2:00 daily while camps are in session. The Universities Certified Athletic Training Staff as well as EMT’s will provide supervision while camps are in session 24 hours a day. As a prerequisite for attendance at all camps the New York State Department of Health requires that a complete rec ord of immunizations and medical history forms along with a medication sheet indicating all over-the-counter and/or prescription medications be approved by the campers family physician must be completed. Insurance-Parents of campers are encouraged to provide health insurance for their children while in attendance. If a physicians services are need or emergency medical services are required at area hospitals or trauma centers these charges will be billed directly to the parents.
