Evan Munderville ’10

On the field or in the classroom, Evan Munderville ’10 knows that St. Lawrence has prepared him for the future.  Evan, who is from Guilderland, N.Y., and graduated from Guilderland High School, is an economics and psychology double major with a statistics minor. He loves competing on the club soccer fields and has captained his team for three years.

His success in the classroom led him to competition off the field as well. In November 2009, Evan participated in the Early Leaders Case Competition at the Simon Graduate School of Business of the University of Rochester.  The competition simulated real-world business situations; teams had to come up with a solution to a problem and present it to a panel of judges.

His team took fourth place, but the experience is what Evan values most. “Many of my experiences at SLU prepared me for the competition,” Evan says.  Not only did he bring helpful academic experiences to the table; his position as an admissions ambassador helped his communications and presentation skills.

Ever since his campus tour, Evan knew that St. Lawrence was the place for him.  He applied Early Decision and has never looked back.  “I had this feeling, that I cannot describe, but I knew this was a place where I belonged, could do well and have a good time,” he says.  Now Evan enjoys sharing at experience with prospective students during their college search through his work with admissions.

Evan spent two days last fall in New York City, alongside 13 other SLU students, learning about finance with John Angelo ’63, who led seminar discussions.  “You can learn only so much in a textbook,” Evan points out.  He hopes to earn a master’s degree in finance and then pursue his MBA while working in finance.

Evan is a member of the club tennisteam and the psychology honor society.  He studied on SLU’s program in Denmark in fall 2008.
