“When I visited St. Lawrence, it was a cold spring day, but I couldn’t help but notice every student smiling,” says Molly Lunn ’12.  After touring 23 schools, Molly knew St. Lawrence was the perfect fit.

"As an Admissions Ambassador, I now get to be that first smiling face for prospective students on their visits to campus,” says the Norwell, Mass., native. An internship with the Admissions office in summer 2011 proved Molly confident in her college choice.  From fall foliage to kayaking, she enjoys sharing all of her St. Lawrence experiences on her blog.

The Notre Dame Academy graduate was one of three students awarded prizes for her research in her First-Year Seminar; this led to a job at the WORD Studio, St. Lawrence’s writing center for students. “Tutoring students has given me a chance to see what the rest of campus is writing about and is passionate about,” she says.

Molly was also recruited for the University’s swimming and diving team.  “I’ll look at myself as an athlete forever,” she says. Off campus, Molly has competed in several triathlons; her favorite, the “Aquad-Man” in northern Vermont, was a 3.5-mile swim, a 34-mile bike ride, and a 13-mile run. “It was the most challenging and rewarding thing I’ve ever done,” she says.

The government major with English and Spanish minors loves trying new things, including traveling to foreign places. She spent a semester in St. Lawrence’s Spain program, based in Madrid.

“Navigating a new city in a foreign language wasn’t easy,” she says, “but it gave me an incredible sense of independence.”

Molly’s plans include traveling and teaching English in South America.  “St. Lawrence has prepared me for the real world in so many more ways than I anticipated,” she says.
