From Bucharest, Romania, with a double major in economics and math and
a minor in statistics, Stefi Anton '04 has excellence written all over
her SLU resume.
"I tried to make the most of every opportunity I had at St. Lawrence," says Anton, "and it couldn't have worked out better." When she arrived, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in economics, but wasn't aware of all the other options." Economics is still what I enjoy doing the most," she says. "I've realized you're best at doing what you enjoy."
Stefi completed several internships during her St. Lawrence years, in banking, in marketing and in finance. She's since lost no time in passing along some of the support she received, recommending current St. Lawrence students for internships and helping to welcome new graduates to New York City, where she is a member of the international equity sales department at Credit Suisse First Boston, covering emerging markets in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Her academic study combined with campus commitments in such areas as student government; investment club; International House; treasurer for the Student Activities Fund; Phi Beta Kappa; Omicron Delta Epsilon, economics honorary; Pi Mu Epsilon, math honorary; and Omicron Delta Kappa, leadership honorary, to give Stefi the experience she wanted to all kinds of people in all kinds of projects, experiences that come in handy every day at work.
