Announcements
Presidential Office Hours: On March 30, President Daniel F. Sullivan issued the following message to students, which is amended to suit this week’s Scarlet Letter: “In order to increase opportunities for me to be responsive to issues or concerns students may have, and just to meet some additional students, I am scheduling a series of open office hours in Vilas 110, (including) 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 11. Travel will keep me from scheduling additional hours until early May, but you will hear from me again then. No need to call in advance. Just show up and we can talk.
“I'd also like to remind you that I am an avid e-mail correspondent, and listen readily to questions, issues or concerns you'd like to express through that medium, and when a student wants to schedule an appointment, my office tries to accommodate on a same-day basis, or as soon as possible.
“In addition, Mrs. Sullivan and I have been meeting with groups of students at MacAllaster House for conversations every couple of weeks, and I would be glad to schedule other meetings with students at Thelmo’s request, or at the request of other groups. I greatly look forward to these opportunities for dialogue.”

Safe Walks: A reminder that Safe Walks are available “24/7” on campus, and Friday and Saturday nights, 11 p.m.-2:30 a.m., from downtown. Call 229-5554 for assistance.

Communications Internships: Writing-intensive internships are available for next semester in University communications. The internships earn credit, normally as English 409. For information, contact Neal Burdick, nburdick@stlawu.edu or 5560.

Lunch Bunch: Laurentian Women's Association Lunch Bunch meets one Wednesday per month at noon in the Eben Holden Conference Room. Remaining date for the spring semester is May 4. Reservations must be made by noon the preceding day with Mickey Williams, 386-8781. Lunch Bunch is open to all women faculty and staff and wives of faculty and staff, including retirees.

Retirees Luncheons: University retirees gather for lunch one Tuesday a month at noon in the Eben Holden Conference Room. Remaining dates for the spring semester are April 12 and May 10. At the April 12 meeting, Susan Kramer, education, will speak on “The North Country Symposium.” Reservations must be made by noon the preceding day with Mickey Williams, 386-8781, or Wanda Renick, 386-3474.
