Skilled Trades

St. Lawrence University is accepting applications for a full time Skilled Trades position.  Responsible for repairing and replacing damaged, deteriorated or non-functioning conditions throughout University buildings and campus.  Apply journeyman level knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing or electrical.  Additional experience must encompass a basic knowledge from three of the following disciplines: carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting.  Apply skill and responsibility in the use of tools and equipment of the respective trades, materials, and devices to perform tasks according to accepted practices.  Primary schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 11:00 pm - 7:30 am. Qualifications:  High School diploma (or equivalent) required.  Five (5) years experience at journeyman trade level in carpentry, plumbing or electrical.  Requires operation of equipment related to the trade.  Bending, heavy lifting, climbing ladders and stairs.  Ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions, create verbal/written reports, and utilize a work order system.  Must be able to meet University requirements to be authorized to drive University vehicles.  Qualified applicants, please forward application, letter of interest, resume, and the names and phone numbers of three professional references to the Director of Human Resources, RE: Skilled Trades, St. Lawrence University, 23 Romoda Drive, Canton, NY  13617.  St. Lawrence University is an EO/AA employer.
