Information Technology Applications Programmer / Web Developer
The Applications Programmer is part of the Information Technology Developers team that is responsible for writing, supporting and maintaining St. Lawrence University’s administrative applications. The duties of the position include coding, testing, and maintaining computer programs for administrative applications and preparing user and system documentation. The position requires adaptability, teamwork, organization and troubleshooting skills, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Position Requirements:
- Coding, testing, installing and maintaining computer programs for administrative user applications and preparing user and system documentation.
- Supporting users of administrative applications, experience with Blackbaud and/or Datatel would also be beneficial.
- Supporting users of Microsoft Access.
- Use of various modern programming languages and tools including, but not limited to, .NET, Data Warehousing, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, Java, and/or PHP.
- Use of various database management systems (i.e. RDBMS etc.)
- Identifying technologies related to web development.
- Participate in daily operating procedures to include: backup and restore; log file analysis and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of programming and scripting languages to support operating procedures and user interface.
- Ability to take a project from beginning to end, while providing a project scope and timeline.
- Modification of assignment as appropriate.

Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of programming experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
