Director of Asia Programs

St. Lawrence University seeks a Director of Asia Programs, with particular focus on China.  This position will be located in the University’s Center for International and Intercultural Studies (CIIS). 

Primary Function:
The primary responsibility of the Director will be to work with CIIS and other campus offices, the Asian Studies Program, the faculty, and students to develop interest in study in Asia.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The Director will also work to develop internship opportunities in China and elsewhere in Asia.  After the first year, the Director will have the opportunity to teach or co-teach 1 course per year, with the possibility of travel with students to Asia, connected to this course.  

Skills/Qualifications:
An advanced degree (minimum M.A. or equivalent) and fluency in Mandarin are required.  Some teaching experience preferred.  The successful candidate must have experience directing and/or developing international programs.
