Camille
Partin ’06 of Bedford, NH, had a world-wide research
program. She has been awarded grant funding for research in China, New
Zealand and Iceland, all
before her senior year at St. Lawrence.
Geology and environmental studies major Camille Partin
'06, Bedford, N.H., has twice presented the results of her research
at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America. In 2005,
she presented the paper "Protection, Development and Education
in Chinese Geoparks," with Assistant Professor of Geology Stephen
Robinson and Ben Meade '06, of Amherst, N.H.
The three conducted research in China for three weeks during the
summer of 2005, evaluating a new system at four National Geological
Parks.
Partin was awarded a travel enrichment grant from the Center
for International and Intercultural Studies, to conduct research
in New Zealand following a semester of study there. In 2004, she
was awarded one of St. Lawrence's Tanner Fellowships, to
study the regional geology of Iceland.
A University Scholar, Partin is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa leadership
honorary and is involved in a wide variety of campus activities,
including the student government organization, the Geology
Club and the Environmental Action Organization.
