Graduation: Declaration to Graduate for Undergrads

Graduation is an exciting time! It is important to us that your graduation is happy and memorable. Timely submission of this form alerts the Registrar's Office of your intent to graduate and ensures that your information is correct. Graduate completion year/term, major(s)/minor(s), diploma details and pronunciation of your name during the ceremony are some of the details this form validates.

Section 1: Student Information
Please use both upper and lowercase letters. The Registrar’s Office will verify that your first, middle and last name appears on your student record exactly as you have listed. This is the name that will be printed on your diploma and in the Commencement Program.
If you feel the pronunciation of your name is either difficult or irregular, please fill in the line above AND stop by the Registrar’s Office to record your name digitally. If you have the ability to record it digitally on your computer you may send it to registrar@stlawu.edu.
Section 2: Graduation Term, Degree, Major/minor Information
All students must select a primary major. Secondary major and minor(s) are optional. Check your record on APR to verify your declared major(s)/minor(s). Visit Academic Advising in Whitman 160 to correct your record as necessary. List ONLY majors or minors that you have officially declared. Combined majors are listed with "combined" in their title. Do not list combined majors as major 1 and 2.
Limitation on minors: Page 20 of the University College states, "A student who has declared a single major may elect one OR two minor fields; a student who has declared a double or combined major may elect ONLY one minor field."
3/2 students spend three years at St. Lawrence and finish their final two years at a secondary university with which SLU has a pre-arranged agreement.
Section 3: Commencement Participation.
Submit address ONLY if August grad or not participating in the ceremony. Please note that this does NOT constitute an official address change. You need to complete a "change of student information form" to update your student record.
Section 4: Are you related to someone at St. Lawrence?
If you answered "yes" to child, spouse or partner of a St. Lawrence employee above, please specify the relationship
Section 6: Certification
I certify that upon successful completion of my last term of study, I will have met the requirements for the Degree stated above. I further certify that I will have met all financial obligations to the University as well as all other obligations as stated in the college catalog. I realize that if I fail to complete the requirements as stated in the St. Lawrence University catalog, that I must reapply for graduation in a subsequent term.
