That’s why I enrolled in one of SLU’s summer programs, which are great for students who can’t or don’t want to be away for an extended period of time. I went to Copenhagen, Denmark, and met new people while immersing myself in another culture. I received course credit and didn’t having to worry about missing anything on campus.” “Coming to St. Lawrence was a preparatory step before studying abroad. My family was never out of calling range and being on a sports team meant I had another family to become a part of, too. Traveling abroad to Australia, a new place, country, and continent, meant leaving all of this and truly being on my own. Independence took on a new meaning for me. This experience allowed me to become more confident in who I am and what I can achieve. I have more confidence to do things I would not before and feel more prepared for life after college.” “I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to study abroad in Vienna, Austria. I learned about cultural values, customs and traditions of the countries I had the privilege of visiting. The St. Lawrence study abroad program has helped me grow tremendously as an individual through these many valuable experiences that I wouldn’t trade for anything.” ISAAC LEWIS ’18 HEATHER FOLEY ’17 LINDSAY GEIER ’17 Baseball Windsor, Ontario, Canada Women’s Swimming & Diving Bennington, Vermont Women’s Soccer South Burlington, Vermont 52% of students study off campus for a semester or more 13
