When I first started at St. Lawrence I was absolutely certain of my decision to study chemistry. Luckily, a pre-requisite for upper level chemistry courses is University Physics; it was during this class that I realized how much I love the physics field. Since changing majors, I have become particularly interested in quantum mechanics, particularly the study of quantum entanglement. During my senior year I have been conducting research in this field and hope to successfully replicate the quantum eraser experiment this spring.
After graduation I plan to pursue a career in financial research and analysis; I am excited to begin applying the physics thought process and logic to a new space. During the summer of 2014 I completed a financial research internship and found the unique way my studies had prepared me for the job absolutely fascinating. However, I am also considering pursuing a graduate degree in either physics or finance, or even continuing to study computer science within the next several years.
