News of SLU Philosophy Alumni

Robert Bennett, who studied philosophy at St. Lawrence University in the 1960s, came across the SLU Philosophy Blog and then got in touch.  He has been teaching philosophy for forty years, and currently teaches at Richland College in Dallas, Texas.

Natasha Galea, who was an exchange student here at St. Lawrence in 2004, has completed her philosophy B.A. with Honors at the University of Malta.  She is now studying for her M.A. in philosophy there, focusing on Baudrillard and Popular Culture.

Kyle Kennedy '01 also saw the Philosophy Blog and wrote in.  Kyle lives in Denver, Colorado and works for a technology company that creates the entertainment systems for hotels and cruise ships.  Kyle got married on May 19th and says that "a Friedrich Nietzsche quote made it on the front cover of our program!!!  When she let me put that one there, I knew for sure she was the right one!"  :-)

Ryan Stewart '02 will be in the very first class at the newly opening law school at Elon University in North Carolina.  He writes: "after four years in the real-world, I am ready to return to academia."  His most recent job was at Duke University Medical Center's Department of Obstetric and Gynecology, helping to administer research grants and contracts.  Congratulations to Ryan and Suzanne who were married on May 27, 2006.  Another SLU philosophy alum, Peter Theroux '02, was one of the groomsmen at their wedding.

If you have any news or know of any corrections that need to be made to these lists (even if it is about you--don't be embarrassed!), please contact Laura Rediehs. Thank you!
