St. Pierre and Chiarenzelli win Mackay Award
Philosophy senior majors Ben St. Pierre and Joe Chiarenzelli were awarded the Kathryn Fraser Mackay Endowed Prize in Philosophy at Moving Up Day on April 30.
This award was established in 2002 by Donald Mackay P’77 in tribute to his daughter Kathy’s engaging and generous spirit; the purpose of the award is to honor an outstanding senior philosophy major. Kathryn Fraser Mackay had majored in philosophy at St. Lawrence and, in the description of her that is read as an introduction to the Mackay Lectures in Philosophy and Religion, she was “determined and bright and full of courage, both in daily life and in the intellectual and spiritual battle she waged to resolve for herself fundamental questions in philosophy and religion.”
Congratulations, Ben and Joe!
