Professor Gardinier Halstead’s Play Premieres in Australia

Professor Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead visited Queensland, Australia in July '13 for the international premiere of her play Have You Filled a Bucket Today? - an adaptation of the award-winning books by Carol McCloud.

Prof. Gardinier Halstead served as playwright-in-residence, offering feedback to the cast and director.  In addition, she worked with students and staff at St. Mary MacKillop School and participated in a community dialogue about bullying and prevention efforts.

Professor Gardinier Halstead was invited to give a presentation at the New York State convention of the American Association of University Women in April 2013.  Her talk, "From Page to Stage: Bullying-Prevention Programming and the Arts," focused on the various ways that the arts can help teachers, school administrators and parents to address bullying in new and creative ways.

In March 2013, Professors Matt Saltzberg and Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead presented at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) in Louisville, Kentucky.  Prof. Saltzberg led a workshop in the Suzuki method, while Prof. Gardinier Halstead presented on stylized acting as well as service learning and theatre.
