Prof. Kittler Presents His Research In Lisbon, Portugal
A paper highlighting the Historical Parallels Between the Earliest Modern Newsgathering Systems and Digital Era Information Networks was presented by Prof. Kittler during the gathering of European media historians in Lisbon, Portugal. It is based on his recent sabbatical research in the Renaissance archives of Venice, Florence (Italy), and Seville (Spain).
The workshop “History of the Media in Transition Periods” took place on September 4-6, 2013, at the Lisbon Foundation for Communication Research - part of a series of bi-annual workshops organized by media historians working under the auspices of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA).
The gathering in Lisbon approved Prof. Kittler’s proposal to organize the next workshop of European media historians in Venice, Italy, and entrusted the SLU professor - together with his Swiss-Italian colleague Dr. Gabriele Balbi - with its organization.
