Erin M. Colvin

Assistant Director HEOP
Erin Colvin

Greetings, my name is Erin M. Colvin and I am starting my 16th academic year as the Assistant Director for the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) at St. Lawrence University.  I arrived at SLU in November of 2007 to work with HEOP. In addition to working in HEOP, I taught in the First-Year Program fall 2018 in a course titled - Native Americans: Yes, They Still Exist!

Most recently, I was the John P. “Jack” Taylor Distinguished Career Service Award 2021 Recipient.  "The Taylor Award was established in 1995 and recognizes distinguished service to the University by an administrator who has worked at least 12 years at St. Lawrence University and who sustains the high standards of performance exemplified by Jack Taylor’s long and distinguished service as Director of Dining Services."

I have an MEd in Educational Leadership from St. Lawrence University with other graduate degree coursework that was completed at Syracuse University as well as graduate research in Ireland and England through the University of Arkansas in 2003 .  I earned a BA from Oswego State University in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations and studied a semester abroad in London, England.

In my spare time (if there is any), I enjoy taking on DIY home projects, doing yard work or creating/designing/decorating specialty cakes.

I love the North Country and all that it has to offer. Whether it's Friday night hockey at Appleton Arena, a trip to the Adirondacks (Lake Placid is one of my favorite places) or head over the border for dinner in Canada - there is never a lack of things to do.
