Before I came to St. Lawrence I had been involved with my high school's mountaineering club in New Hampshire, and I knew I wanted to further my skills in group leadership and outdoor education. I got the climbing bug almost immediately upon arrival and I did the Guide Training program in the spring of my first year at St. Lawrence. During this program I became a certified WFR and since then I have been leading climbing, backpacking, and skiing trips in the Adirondacks for other students. I have been able to partake in the Snow Science course in the Tetons and led a weeklong climbing trip in the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. This has led to summer employment as well. After graduation, I will be biking across North America with 3 other students Matthew Didisheim '10 (OP Guide), Hilary Burt '11, and Andrew Skaggs '12.
