Introduction

St. Lawrence University is, almost literally, surrounded by water; the Grasse River and one of its tributaries, the Little River, act as borders on two sides of campus. The Outdoor Program seeks to utilize the tremendous paddling resources here on our doorstep, throughout the North Country, and in many parts of the northeastern U.S. and southern Canada. From an afternoon paddle up the Little River or weekend trip on a quiet Adirondack lake, to a kayaking trip on a local whitewater run or a two-week canoe excursion down a remote Arctic watershed river, our program offers something to interest and challenge every outdoorsperson.
