Climbing Program

Rock, ice, mountain, and indoor wall climbing are all components of the SLU Outdoor Program climbing curriculum. From overnight excursions to ten-day trips, these courses will teach you the skills necessary to get started and eventually be self-sufficient in the mountains.

Rock climbing courses are run in the nearby Adirondacks, Gatineaus, Shawangunks and Rumney as well as on-campus at the Munro Climbing Wall. Mountain and ice climbing courses take place in the White Mountains and in the Adirondacks.

Extended courses during Spring and Winter Breaks have taken place at Smith Rock, Oregon, El Potrero Chico, Mexico, El Pico de Orizaba, Mexico, Spain, Joshua Tree, New River Gorge and the Red River Gorge, Kentucky.
