 Winter Break climbing Orizaba, Mexico
Climb the third highest peak in North America at 18406ft. This trip is for anyone genuinely interested in a cultural and high altitude mountaineering experience. Orizaba is a glaciated volcano located outside of Mexico City and is visited my mountaineers from all over the world. The trip will include an acclimatization peak (Iztaccihuatl) as well as basic mountain skills such as self-arrests and rope management. Although the route (Jamapa Glacier) is basic snow and ice, its' altitude, weather and exposure make it a significant undertaking and accomplishment. Anyone interested in this adventure should attend all pre trip meetings, be willing to get involved in trip planning and packing and be in reasonable physical condition.
Maximum number for enrollment: 8
