Altering 'Challenging Behaviors' Topic For Presentation At St. Lawrence

CANTON - Jennifer Zarcone, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Rochester Center for Developmental Disabilities, will give a public presentation titled "Using Positive Behavior Support to Alter Challenging Behaviors" on Thursday, October 9, at 4:15 p.m. in Eben Holden Conference Center at St. Lawrence University.

Part of an annual colloquium series by the St. Lawrence psychology department, the event is co-sponsored by the New York State VESID/SETRC Network, the Northern New York Early Childhood Direction Center, St. Lawrence NYSARC and the St. Lawrence Valley Teachers' Learning Center.

The presentation will include a discussion of evidence-based strategies relating to conducting a functional behavior assessment to determine why a specific behavior is occurring; developing and implementing an intervention plan; and evaluating outcomes.
