APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR SLU YOUNG WRITERS CONFERENCE

CANTON -- Applications are available now for St. Lawrence University's 
Young Writers Conference, to be held September 6 through 8 at the 
Canaras Conference Center in the Adirondacks.
        The conference offers outstanding high school writers from 
the region an opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and 
discussions with working writers in a variety of genres, including 
creative non-fiction and science fiction. Students who are currently 
high school sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply; the deadline 
for applications is March 29.
        Students interested in applying to attend the conference 
should obtain an application from guidance counselors or English 
teachers, or contact conference director Neal Burdick, at 
315-229-5585.
