WWNY TV: SLU Astronomers Prepare for Solar Eclipse
St. Lawrence University astronomers Jeffrey Miller, laboratory coordinator, and Aileen O'Donoghue, Priest Associate Professor of Physics, were interviewed on WWNY-TV Channel 7 as they prepare to view the first total eclipse to travers the United States in nearly 100 years.
O'Donoghue will travel to Kansas to view the eclipse in totality.
The Department of Physics will host an eclipse viewing session with eclipse glasses, binoculars and telescopes starting at 1:19 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, on Millennium Way in front of the Sullivan Student Center. According to Miller, the eclipse will start at 1:19 p.m., reache its maximum at 2:37 p.m., and end just before 4 p.m.
