WALLACE CHOSEN OUTSTANDING FACULTY MEMBER BY SLU SENIORS

CANTON - St. Lawrence University Associate Professor of Psychology 
James R. Wallace has been voted by the Class of 1999 as the Owen D. 
Young Outstanding Faculty 
Member.
	Wallace also won the award, the only St. Lawrence faculty 
award chosen by students, in 1978.
	A member of the University faculty since 1974, Wallace is a 
graduate of the University of Notre Dame, with a master's degree and 
Ph.D. from Kent State University. He was named Canton Citizen of the 
Year in 1991, for his active involvement in the community's summer 
baseball and softball leagues for youth. Wallace has also taught 
courses in St. Lawrence's Talented Juniors Program, which brings 
area high school students to campus on Saturdays to take classes 
with college professors.
	His area of academic expertise is childhood development.
