STRING ORCHESTRA AT SLU TO PERFORM VIVALDI WORKS

CANTON - The St. Lawrence University String Orchestra, under the direction of Christian Hosmer, will perform a concert titled "Viva Vivaldi!" on Sunday, November 11, at 2 p.m., in Gunnison Memorial Chapel on campus. It is open to the public, free of charge.

This lively program consists of Baroque works by Antonio Vivaldi and Arcangelo Corelli, including excerpts from the well-known "Four Seasons." The orchestra will also perform the Vivaldi Concerto VII in D Major, with the group's concertmaster, Jennifer Kessler, as soloist. In addition, Vivaldi's Concerto IX for Four Violins in F Major is also on the program, featuring Kessler, Gregory Berlin, Genelle Bayer and Yae Ran Moon. Barbara Phillips-Farley joins the orchestra on harpsichord.
