EARLY MUSIC STRINGS PLAN ST. LAWRENCE CONCERT

CANTON - Viva Vivaldi!, a program of music by the fiery 18th-century 
Venetian master Antonio Vivaldi, will be performed by the St. Lawrence 
University Early Music Strings ensemble, on Sunday, April 6, at 
5 p.m. in Gilbert Recital Hall, Griffiths Arts Center. The event 
is open to the public, free of charge.
	The program includes:
	- Two concertos from L'Estro Harmonico, Op. 3 - no. 8 in 
A minor, with violin soloists Sarah Hiscock and Adam Sullivan, and 
no. 11, with violin soloists Gina Corso and Tristan Wolfe.
	- Flute Concerto in F major, Op. 10 no. 5, featuring Laura 
Rediehs on Baroque flute.
	- Oboe Concerto in F major, with Kay Caldwell
	- Trio for Recorder, Oboe and Continuo in G minor, featuring 
Caldwell and Lynn Waickman on recorder and Anne Mamary on harpsichord.
	The Early Music Strings is the newest extension of the Early 
Music Ensemble, directed by Barry Torres. Modeled on the small 
orchestras of the Baroque era, the ensemble is comprised of six 
violinists, two violists, two cellists, a double bass and a harpsichord. 
Members are drawn from the student body and faculty at St. Lawrence 
University, and from the community.
