Visiting Professor Wins Writers Prize for Poetry Book

Viebranz Visiting Professor of Creative Writing Kirsten Kaschock wins Association of Writers & Writing Programs award for her book "The Dottery." The book won the Donald Hall Prize for poetry from AWP and will be published by the University of Pittsburgh Press is 2014.

Kaschock is the author of two other books of poetry: "Unfathoms" (Slope Editions) and "A Beautiful Name for a Girl" (Ahsahta Press). Her debut novel, "Sleight," a work of speculative fiction, was published by Coffee House Press.

She has earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in dance from Temple University. When she is not in the North Country, Kirsten resides in Philadelphia with Dan Marenda and their three children.
