Ensler is the Obie-Award-winning author of The Vagina Monologues, translated into over 35 languages and running in theaters all over the world. Her experience performing the show inspired her to create V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls; in the "college campaign," performances of the show are being held on campuses across the country in February and March, benefiting local and global organizations. The Vagina Monologues is based on Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength.
