CANTON - "Christmas New and Old" is the theme of the University Chorus concert, to be performed on Saturday, December 8, at 8 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel at St. Lawrence University. It is open to the public, free of charge.

The University Chorus is directed by Tammara Madeja; Kathleen Hubbard is accompanist.

The program features "Christmas Cantata," by Daniel Pinkham, which blends contemporary and Renaissance styles; a fugue setting of Handel's "Hallelujah Amen"; two chorales from Bach's Christmas Oratorio; three Latvian Carols; "Wana Bararka," a Kenyan religious song; "Wolcum Yole," from Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols"; and "Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind," from "When Icicles Hang," by John Rutter.
