University Chorus Presents 'Another Night At The Opera' In Russell & On Campus

CANTON - The University Chorus will perform "Another Night At The Opera," an evening of well-known opera choruses, on Saturday, April 18 at 8 p.m. in the Russell Opera House and on Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m. in Gilbert Recital Hall on campus at St. Lawrence University. Both events are open to the public, free of charge.

The program features several choruses from staples of the opera stage and will feature soloists from the Chorus, directed by Barry Torres and accompanied by Barbara Phillips-Farley. The University Chorus first performed at the Russell Opera House in 2004.

Selections from Carmen, Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana, Lucia di Lammermoor, Dido and Aeneas, Boris Godunov, The Magic Flute, Lohengrin and Il Trovatore are included in the concert.

The University Chorus is Canton's community chorus, combining the vocal talents of students, faculty, staff and community members. They perform a varied repertoire, often with instrumental accompaniment.
