NEW TRUSTEES ELECTED AT ST. LAWRENCE

CANTON - The St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees has 
elected three new members, all to six-year terms that begin 
July 1, 2003. Newly elected are Robert D. Gioia, of Buffalo; 
Peter F. Hunt, also of Buffalo; and R. Sheldon Johnson Jr., 
of Rowayton, Connecticut.
	Gioia is a principal with the Food Group of Strategic 
Investments and Holdings, Inc., one of the most experienced 
equity acquisition firms in the nation, and is president of the 
Board of Trustees at The Nichols School in Buffalo. He and his 
wife, Sally P. Gioia, are the parents of Carolyn Gioia, a member 
of St. Lawrence's Class of 2005. The Gioias have been active 
members of the St. Lawrence Parents Committee.
	Hunt graduated from St. Lawrence in 1974, and is 
president and CEO of the Hunt Real Estate Corporation and chair 
of the Board of Trustees of Daemen College in Buffalo. He and 
his wife, 1976 St. Lawrence graduate Mary Jo F. Hunt, are the 
parents of Emily Hunt, a member of the Class of 2004 at the 
University. Hunt has been a member of the Alumni Executive 
Committee and a volunteer for admissions, fund-raising and 
alumni affairs. The Hunts have been active members of the 
Parents Committee.
	Johnson, a 1968 graduate of St. Lawrence, is a managing 
director of Morgan Stanley in New York; head of North American 
Equity; head of Global Distribution, Marketing, and Client 
Technology for the Institutional Equity Division; and a member 
of the Equity Operating Committee. He has volunteered in 
fund-raising and career advising for St. Lawrence.
